Hon. Mansur Oladimeji Tijani, popularly known as MOTIJ, on Saturday October 12th, 2025, rolled out empowerment programme aimed at promoting self-reliance, financial inclusion and supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic agenda for the people at the grassroots.

No fewer than 100 persons, most noticeably, women and youths, benefitted from empowerment, was held in Ede North local government in Osun state.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Tijani said the initiative was conceived to complement the efforts of the federal government in improving citizens’ welfare.

“The major reason for this empowerment is to support what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing at the federal level. The courage he has shown through his policies is already yielding results. Even though there are challenges, we are on our toes trying to mitigate them through programmes like this”, Tijani stated.

He further noted that the empowerment scheme was designed to be sustainable, with beneficiaries receiving not only tools but also practical business training.

“We have provided Point of Sale (POS) machines and organized capacity-building sessions where the operators were fully trained on how to make a success of the businesses we’ve supported them with,” he said.

Tijani disclosed that over one hundred individuals had benefited from the initiative so far, with the number increasing daily. He encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity.

Speaking at the event, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ajibola Bashiru, commended Hon. Tijani for his commitment to grassroots development.

Basiru, who was represented by Mr. Usman Wasiu said Tijani’s thoughtfulness had lifted many out of poverty by providing business tools and financial support.

“Hon. Mansur’s initiative to empower people with POS machines, bags of corn, and cash gifts for small-scale entrepreneurs is commendable. This effort will make many financially independent,” Ajibola stated.

Also speaking, the APC Apex Leader in Ede North, Dr. Muftau Oyewale, described the empowerment as a “magnificent initiative” and lauded Tijani’s consistency in supporting his community.

According to Oyewale, “This is not the first and won’t be the last, “He is a dependable and loyal party man and I urge all beneficiaries to make good progress with this opportunity so others can emulate them.

Similarly, a prominent APC leader in Ede, Prince Omoyele Ademakinwa Alabi, praised the initiative, calling it massive and impactful.

“For someone who has not been given any official platform to represent the local government, doing this is remarkable,, Prince Alabi remarked.

The empowerment is putting food on the tables of the needy and truly he is a man of the people.

Among the beneficiaries, Mrs. Alamu Deborah, the Woman Leader of APC, Ward 1, expressed her gratitude after receiving a bag of corn and cash support. “He’s a good man with the burden of the people at heart,” she said.

Another beneficiary, Mr. Abbas Muiddeen Adekule, also appreciated the gesture after receiving a POS machine and working capital. “I’m so grateful to be part of today’s empowerment” , Hon. Mansur has a kind heart, and I pray Almighty Allah continues to bless him, Abbas appreciated.

The event concluded with the presentation of tools, cash prizes, and group photographs with party officials, beneficiaries, and dignitaries.
