Nottingham Forest have sacked manager Ange Postecoglou just minutes after their crushing 3–0 loss to Chelsea in Saturday’s Premier League clash.
The decision came swiftly after the final whistle, marking a dramatic end to the Australian’s short stint at the City Ground. Postecoglou, who took over from Nuno Espirito Santo in September, failed to secure a single win in eight matches.
Club owner Evangelos Marinakis, known for his no-nonsense approach, reportedly made the decision immediately following the disappointing home defeat. The result leaves Forest struggling for form in a season that once held big expectations, especially after the club’s much-celebrated return to European competition.
Postecoglou’s exit means Marinakis will now be searching for his third manager of the season, as frustration grows over the team’s poor performances and lack of progress.
Forest are yet to release details about who will take charge on an interim basis, but an official club statement confirmed Postecoglou’s departure.
