Senator Ned Nwoko has sparked conversation once again after saying he feels sorry for men who have only one wife, claiming that polygamy provides greater stability and balance in marriage.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Sunday, the senator representing Delta North compared monogamy to “standing on one leg.”
“I feel sorry for those who have one wife. Just imagine standing on one leg, it’s difficult. But with two, three, or four, you’re more balanced. That’s the example I give,” Nwoko said.
When reminded that the Bible does not encourage polygamy, he argued that the Old Testament does, adding that he remains “a man of faith.”
Nwoko, who is married to four wives, said he has no regrets about his choices.
“No, I don’t have any regret. I would do the same thing again. You should marry who you want to marry,” he stated.
The senator also addressed recent rumours alleging domestic violence involving his actress wife, Regina Daniels. He dismissed the reports as false, insisting that he treats his family with respect.
“I am not a violent person. I respect my wives and love them and my kids,” he said.
His remarks come amid social media buzz following Regina Daniels’ announcement of a new mansion. The actress had shared photos of the property with the caption, “In my house, I am a queen. I needed a roof over my head, so I got this for me and my family.”
