IGP Presents ₦40.3M cheques to families of fallen Police Officers in Osun

The Commissioner of Police in Osun State, CP Ibrahim Gotan, mnips, represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, DCP Adebisi Bola Lateef, psc, mnips, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, presented cheques worth ₦40,360,075.66 to the families and next of kin of 45 deceased police officers.

The presentation, which took place at the Osun State Police Command Headquarters in Osogbo, was part of the Inspector-General of Police’s Family Welfare Package and the Group Life Assurance Scheme designed to support families of officers who died in active service.

Speaking on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, the Commissioner of Police urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the funds. He prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed officers and comfort for their loved ones.

CP Gotan also expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for his continued commitment to the welfare of police personnel and their families. He assured that the Force remains dedicated to supporting the families of officers who paid the ultimate price in service to peace and security in the nation.
