Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has officially announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday in Enugu, Mbah said his decision was driven by a desire to align with the APC’s vision of national development and to create better opportunities for the people of Enugu State.

According to the governor, joining the ruling party would enhance collaboration and accelerate the realization of his administration’s development agenda.

“To the Peoples Democratic Party, which provided us the platform to campaign and win, I express my deep gratitude. The PDP stood by us through a challenging campaign and celebrated our victory with us,” Mbah stated.

He added, “Leadership often demands tough and sometimes painful decisions in the pursuit of higher goals. After careful reflection, I have decided to join the All Progressives Congress to further advance the interests of our people.”

Mbah also acknowledged the support of his political allies and assured Enugu residents of his continued commitment to good governance and progress.

The announcement comes just a day after several members of his cabinet defected to the APC in anticipation of his move.
