United States President Donald Trump has said he is unsure of making heaven, even though he believes he has made life better for many people.
Trump made the remark during an interview with journalists at the White House, which aired on Fox News on Monday.
During the session, journalist Peter Doocy referenced a previous interview where Trump said he hoped to end the war in Ukraine because it might help him “get into heaven.”
Doocy asked, “You had talked a couple of weeks ago, you were doing an interview, and you talked about how you hoped to end the war in Ukraine because it might help you get into heaven. How does this help? Does this help?”
Responding with a smile, Trump said he was uncertain about his chances of making heaven.
“I don’t think there’s anything going to get me in heaven, OK? I really don’t.
I think I’m not maybe heaven-bound. I may be in heaven right now as we fly on Air Force One.
I’m not sure I’m going to be able to make heaven,” Trump said.
The former president, however, added that despite his doubts, he takes pride in the positive impact he believes he has had on people’s lives.
“But I’ve made life a lot better for a lot of people,” Trump added.
The remark has since drawn mixed reactions on social media, with some supporters describing it as humorous and typical of Trump’s style, while critics viewed it as a revealing self-assessment of his political and moral outlook.
