Popular reality TV star and entrepreneur, Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has opened up on why she decided to hold her Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt for the most makeovers done in 24 hours in Lagos, Nigeria, rather than in London.

During a conversation with influencer Egungun at her Tacha Beauty Festival, the former Big Brother Naija housemate said her decision was inspired by a desire to promote Nigeria’s creative talent and entrepreneurial energy.

According to Tacha, her goal was not only to set a world record but also to showcase the vibrancy and potential of Nigeria’s beauty industry.

“London won’t give me the vibes I want. I got sponsorship offers from international brands, and we initially planned to do it in London. But it always makes sense to carry your country along,” she said.

The 24-hour marathon makeover began on Saturday night in Lagos, with Tacha aiming to complete 150 makeovers within the set timeframe.

By Sunday morning, she had already completed 115 makeovers in 12 hours, surpassing the previous Guinness World Record of 113 makeovers in 24 hours.

The record-breaking attempt was part of the Tacha Beauty Festival, a three-day event held from October 10 to 12, dedicated to celebrating beauty, culture, and resilience in Nigeria’s growing creative sector.
