Veteran Nollywood actor, Alhaji Babatunde Bamgbode, popularly known as Baba Fakoko, has refuted claims made by some of his colleagues that the President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, better known as MC Oluomo, failed to fulfil promises made to them during the 2023 presidential campaign.

Fakoko’s clarification comes after actors Lalude and Alapini publicly expressed disappointment over alleged unfulfilled promises following their participation in the campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s election.

Recall that several Nollywood stars, including Lalude, Alapini, Toyin Abraham, Olaiye Igwe, Seyi Law, Eniola Badmus, and Foluke Daramola, were among the entertainers who supported Tinubu’s presidential bid in 2023.

Earlier in June 2025, Alapini had expressed regret for supporting the campaign, saying he received no reward. Shortly after, Lalude accused MC Oluomo of failing to deliver on his alleged promises to the actors.

However, in a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Baba Fakoko dismissed those claims, insisting that MC Oluomo never made any such commitment.

“He didn’t promise to reward any of us,” Fakoko said. “He never promised me anything, though he had good intentions toward us. It’s been more than two years now, and at no point did he say he would compensate anyone after the campaign.”

Fakoko added that MC Oluomo supported the campaign team by providing food items, which were shared among the participants.

“He brought foodstuffs for us during the campaign and told us to share the remaining ones among ourselves. We benefited from that more than twice, but there was no promise of any post-campaign reward,” he clarified.
