Osun state government has remained tight-lipped on the fate of the embattled Corps Commander of the Osun State Security Network codenamed Amotekun, Mr Isaac Adekunle Omoyele.
InsightMedia gathered that Omoyele, who honoured police invitation in Abuja, has spent fourth night in the police custody.
Omoyele has remained at the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team office formerly known as SARS in Guzape area of Abuja.
Sources familiar with the situation told InsightMedia that Omoyele is cooperating with the police and he is helping the IRT to identify and arrest the killer officers who struck at Akinlalu community.
A statement by the Amotekun Spokesperson, Yusuf Abass on Thursday, revealed that Omoyele honoured the invitation in Abuja.
This came days after the police had accused him of failing to show up for investigation into the killings of four persons by Amotekun personnel in Akinlalu community.
It would be recalled that officers of the Amotekun Corps on Tuesday, September 30, stormed Akinlalu community and killed three persons while eleven other sustained gunshot injuries. One of the injured persons later succumbed to death in hospital.
Governor Ademola Adeleke on Monday visited the community and ordered the Board Chairman of Amotekun, AIG Wale Abbas (retd), to immediately lead the investigation into the killings.
Police have sealed the operation bases of Amotekun in Osogbo and Ile-Ife, a development that lawmaker representing Osun East in the Senate, Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi claimed responsibility for.
Calls have been made to Governor Ademola Adeleke to sack the embattled commander and replace him immediately.
When contacted by InsightMedia on whether the state government is shopping for a replacement for Omoyele, Spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke declined comment on inquiry sent to him.
