The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the postponement of its 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, earlier scheduled to hold on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, via the party’s official X handle.
According to Ologunagba, the decision followed an emergency meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) held in Abuja. He explained that the NWC, acting under Section 29 (2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), approved the postponement due to “recent developments” within the party.
“Distinguished members of the National Executive Committee may recall that the 103rd NEC meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, 15th October, 2025,” the statement read. “However, in view of recent developments in the party, the NWC has approved the postponement of the meeting to a new date that will be communicated to members in due course.”
The PDP urged all NEC members to take note of the change and await further directives from the national secretariat.
The postponement comes amid internal tensions and recent defections of some party members to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Reacting to the situation, the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, reiterated the party’s resolve to overcome internal challenges. He assured members that neither defections nor external pressures would derail preparations for the party’s National Convention slated for November 15–16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
