British YouTuber and BMX rider, Ryan Taylor, has finally spoken publicly about his short-lived engagement to Nigerian DJ and billionaire’s daughter, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy.
During an appearance on the Ladders Podcast, the 32-year-old influencer opened up about their whirlwind romance and what led to their split. Taylor had proposed to Cuppy in December 2022 after dating for less than a month, a move that captured public attention and social media buzz.
Reflecting on the relationship, Taylor revealed that certain differences caused tension between them, eventually leading to their separation. He claimed that Cuppy showed little interest in working with Nigerians in some of her business dealings.
“Is it weird that I told you she didn’t like Nigerians?” Taylor said. “She came into my business and didn’t even want Nigerian staff.”
The YouTuber added that there were no contracts or NDAs between them, emphasizing that he walked away from the relationship with only life lessons.
“To be honest, what I got from that was lessons. Everything that happens, happens for a reason. But do I regret it? No. Lesson learned. Next! I learned that money is not everything, but not having it is,” he said.
DJ Cuppy and Ryan Taylor’s engagement had sparked excitement among fans when it was announced in December 2022, shortly after they met during the Gumball 3000 rally. However, by mid-2023, observant followers noticed that the pair had unfollowed each other on Instagram, signaling that their relationship had hit the rocks.
