President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday met with the newly appointed Service Chiefs behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Although the agenda of the meeting was not officially disclosed, sources indicated that discussions focused on strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture and improving coordination among the military and other security agencies.

The meeting follows the President’s recent approval of a new set of Service Chiefs, a decision the Presidency described as part of ongoing efforts to promote professionalism, efficiency, and accountability within the armed forces.

Those in attendance included the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke; and the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas.

The high-level talks are expected to shape the operational direction of the new military leadership, with a focus on counter-terrorism, internal security, and enhanced synergy among the armed services.
