Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has promised that his administration will address all issues affecting youths in the state.

Adeleke made this promise on Wednesday in Osogbo at the grandfinale of 4th edition of the Osun Youth Conference organised by the Office of the Special Assistant to Governor on Youth Mobilisation, Segun Oyewale.

The two-day Conference, which commenced with skill acquisition programme on Tuesday, climaxed on Wednesday.

No fewer than 500 youths across the 30 local government areas of the state gathered for the two days to acquire knowledge and chart way-forwards to challenges confronting them.

Governor Adeleke, who was represented by the state Commissioner for Youth, Olalekan Olagunju, further reaffirmed commitment to more robust youth development.

Speaking on the “The Power of Youth: Rethinking Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Digital Inclusion,” being the theme of the conference, the governor said it was timely and significant, going by the need for government to tap into entrepreneurial capacity of the vast youthful population to solve the challenge of inadequate job opportunities.

“I commend the youth for their resilience, creativity, and peaceful actions in your communities. Your commitment to the progress of our dear State is a clear sign of your love and patriotism.

“I commend the achievements of young people in entrepreneurship, sports, and technology. Your innovation strengthens hope for the future of Osun State and Nigeria as a whole.

“I encourage you to challenge traditional leadership models. You have the power to innovate, to inspire, and to drive meaningful change.Your priorities are our priorities. Together, we will build a prosperous Osun State that offers equal opportunities for all,” he said.

The governor disclosed that he had appointed many youths into key government positions noting that those appointed had been participating in leadership programmes both locally and internationally.

Earlier in his address, the Governor’s Assistant on Youth Mobilisation, Segun Oyewale, said the participants would engage in meaningful discussions to generate actionable ideas to address challenges facing them.

In their respective submissions, Founder of Rave FM Osogbo, Dr. Femi Adefila and Chairman of the Osun Civil Societies Coalition, Comrade Waheed Lawal called on young people to build their capacities and dare to take calculated risks.

Prominent individuals including youth were awarded for their contributions to the state.
