The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has called on Nigerians to support the party, insisting that an ADC-led government would eliminate banditry and other violent crimes.

Aregbesola spoke in Ilesa, Osun State, on Wednesday after revalidating his membership at Ward 8, Ifofin, Ilesa East. His remarks were contained in a statement issued by Oluwaseun Abosede, Chairman of the ADC Directorate of Media and Publicity in Osun State.

Addressing supporters, the former Minister of Interior said he joined the ADC because of its discipline, integrity, and strong moral values.

According to him, “Ogbeni appreciated the committee’s efforts and urged all Nigerians to come on board so we can install a government capable of ending banditry, insecurity, and tragedies such as the recent attack in Kwara, where unknown gunmen killed church members and abducted others.

“He stressed that the ADC did not descend from the sky, but he chose it because it upholds character, courage, competence, discipline, and integrity as the basis of political engagement and public service. This is the party that can take Nigeria out of its present crisis.”

Earlier, the party’s Membership Registration and Revalidation Committee, led by its Secretary, Senator Sodiq Yaradua, flagged off the revalidation exercise. Yaradua revealed that the new ADC membership card contains 12 advanced security features to prevent duplication and ensure authenticity.

He further noted that Aregbesola was the first person in Nigeria to complete the new revalidation process and encouraged members to register at their respective wards. An online registration platform, he added, will soon be launched to make the process easier for all.

Aregbesola’s revalidation was formally completed by Hon. Kamil Akinlade Mudashir, Chairman of the Osun ADC Membership Mobilisation, Revalidation & Registration Committee.

The former minister has recently intensified his advocacy for the ADC’s political vision, especially as the 2027 general elections draw closer. On September 13, 2025, The PUNCH reported his declaration that the ADC aims to unseat President Bola Tinubu by implementing a strong grassroots mobilisation strategy targeted at federal and Lagos State victories.

Speaking at an event in Lagos, where Moshood Salvador, leader of the Labour Party’s Conscience Forum, officially defected with his members to the ADC, Aregbesola praised the group’s executives and urged them to fully commit to the party’s 2027 mission.

He asserted that the ADC is poised not only to produce Nigeria’s next president but also to take control of Lagos State’s seat of power at Alausa.

Aregbesola also highlighted the party’s expansion strategy each committed member must recruit ten new members, and each of those ten must also bring in ten more. Replicated nationwide, he said, this formula would deliver sweeping victories for the ADC in 2027.
