Former Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of Federation, Mr Abubakar Malami, SAN, has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Malami, who served for eight years under late President Muhammadu Buhari, confirmed the development on Friday on his Facebook page.

He, however, did not disclose the reason for his invitation by the anti-graft agency.

He wrote, “This is to confirm that I have been invited by the EFCC.

“As a law-abiding and patriotic citizen, I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation.

“I understand the spirit of accountability and transparency in public service – the principles that I both advocate and champion.

“Rooted in public service and in the spirit of transparency and accountability, I am committed to sharing with the Nigerian public the developments as they unfold.”

Malami left the All Progressives Congress for the African Democratic Congress earlier this year and he is vying for governorship seat of Kebbi state.
