Nigerian street-pop sensation, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has revealed his intention to return to school in order to improve his professionalism and better manage his growing music career.
The controversial singer made this known in a video posted on his Instagram page, where he emphasized the importance of balancing fame with education and discipline.
Portable, who already holds an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) from Kwara State Polytechnic, said his decision was inspired by a desire for personal growth and to set a positive example for his children.
“I want to go back to school and finish my education. I’m already sponsoring other people’s children and my own children too. I don’t want my children to be mocked that their father is illiterate,” he said.
He added that although he never collected his OND certificate, he now sees education as essential to his long-term success.
“Now that I’ve made it, I want to go back to school so I can manage my music career better and improve how I relate with people,” Portable added.
