Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has called for urgent and expanded security deployment to Ekiti Local Government Area following a fresh attack in the Eruku axis, describing the incident as unacceptable and deeply troubling.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the Governor directed that additional security operatives be sent into the area without delay to strengthen the existing architecture and prevent further incidents.

According to the statement, the Governor strongly condemned the “unconscionable attack,” expressing sympathy with residents of Eruku and surrounding communities, especially the families and the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) congregation affected by Tuesday’s incident. He assured that the state government will continue to support security agencies to restore calm and protect lives and property across all parts of the state.

The Governor also commended President Bola Tinubu for recently approving the deployment of 900 additional troops to Kwara, a move he said has already helped stabilise areas previously affected by insecurity.

“We sincerely thank the President for this. We are confident that the additional troops will provide further deterrence, strengthen overall safety for our people, and sustain the calm being witnessed in many communities,” the statement added.
