Serenity Royale Hospital in Abuja has disowned a circulating medical report alleging that Nollywood actress Regina Daniels is undergoing treatment for severe substance abuse, intensifying an already public feud within the Nwoko family.

The document, which went viral earlier in the week, claimed Daniels had been diagnosed with a substance use disorder and placed on a home-based detox programme that allegedly began on September 24.

The report also carried the name and signature of the hospital’s Managing Director and Head of Clinical Services, Adekunle Adesina.

In a statement released on Thursday, the hospital firmly denied authoring the document, describing it as fabricated.

“Our attention has been drawn to a post on an alleged mid-term home detox report being circulated online in the name of Serenity Royale Hospital with respect to Nwoko Regina,” the disclaimer said.

“We wish to state clearly that the publication and circulation of the said post containing classified information did not emanate from us and respectfully request the public to disregard the same.”

The controversy escalated after one of businessman Ned Nwoko’s wives, Laila Charani, accused Daniels on Instagram of introducing her to drugs and alcohol during a difficult period in her marriage six years ago.

Charani claimed she overcame the experience with her husband’s intervention and urged Daniels to continue focusing on rehabilitation.

“You know my husband completely hates alcohol, drugs, and smoking,” Charani said. “The only reason you are fighting my husband is because he wants you to stop your drug and alcohol addiction.”

Before making the allegations, Charani had been sharing posts portraying a united family front, including vacation footage captioned: “Too busy building my peace, life, and family, no time for anything else.”

Daniels, however, continued to respond publicly, making claims about her marriage and insisting she maintained a strong relationship with her estranged husband during their years together.

The dispute has continued to dominate social media conversations, with the authenticity of the viral medical document now firmly dismissed by the hospital.
