Chairman of Atlantis Group, Apesin Jide Bewaji, has disowned a report that listed him among attendees at the inauguration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Osogbo on Tuesday, describing the publication as misleading and entirely false.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Bewaji said he had been receiving disturbing calls from individuals seeking to verify his alleged presence at the political gathering. According to him, “I have been receiving disturbing calls from people who want to confirm my participation in the political gathering.”
He clarified that he is currently outside the country and could not have taken part in any event held in Osogbo. He stated, “I was not part of the gathering. I am currently out of the country, and therefore could not have been present at the event.”
Bewaji stressed that he has no affiliation with any political party or bloc, saying he remains strictly apolitical. In his words.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I do not belong to any political bloc or political party. I remain strictly apolitical while maintaining respect for all political leaders within and outside Osun State,” he said.
He explained that the inclusion of his name in the report may have been done mischievously or resulted from confusion with someone who shares a similar name.
Bewaji urged the public to disregard the publication entirely, stressing that he had no involvement whatsoever in the ADC gathering.
The statement was signed by Apesin Jide Bewaji, Chairman of Atlantis.
