There was heightened tension in Abuja on Wednesday after armed police officers sealed the National Headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) located at Wadata Plaza, Garki.
Security operatives arrived at the complex in several patrol vehicles early in the morning and took strategic positions around the building. They blocked all entry and exit points, preventing staff, journalists, and party supporters from accessing the premises. Officers on the ground reportedly said they were acting on “orders from above.”
The incident comes at a time when the PDP is facing a deepening leadership crisis, with opposing factions battling for control of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).
