The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has claimed that recent terror attacks across Nigeria are being enabled by insiders within the country’s security structure.
In a statement issued on Saturday, party spokesman Seye Oladejo alleged that individuals embedded in security operations were colluding with external forces to undermine national efforts to curb violence.
Oladejo described Nigeria as standing “at a decisive historical junction,” insisting that a rise in coordinated attacks reflected betrayal from within rather than gaps in intelligence.
He argued that the precision with which terrorists have carried out operations suggests that confidential information is being leaked, adding that only insiders could compromise movements and operational plans so accurately.
He accused unnamed actors of weakening security checkpoints at critical moments and enabling attackers to strike vulnerable locations.
Oladejo also faulted some political figures, whom he said were amplifying extremist narratives and damaging national morale.
Despite the allegations, he maintained that President Bola Tinubu remained resolute in leading the fight against terrorism, describing the administration’s approach as uncompromising and intelligence-driven.
He praised the military while warning that those involved in any form of sabotage would be exposed and disgraced.
Authorities have not issued any response to the claims, and Oladejo did not provide evidence to support assertions of internal sabotage or foreign collaboration.
His comments come amid heightened insecurity, including a deadly church attack in Kwara and mass abductions in Kebbi and Niger that have prompted school closures in several states.
