A heated public exchange has erupted between Senator Ned Nwoko and his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, following allegations of drug use, harassment, and family conflict.
Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, accused Regina’s brother, Sammy Daniels, of harassing his children and staff. He also claimed to have spent about ₦125 million on Regina’s family over two years, including sponsoring Sammy’s university education and other expenses.
In a statement shared via X (formerly Twitter), Nwoko alleged that Sammy introduced Regina to drugs and hindered her rehabilitation efforts.
“Sammy and Lawrence first supplied her with drugs. Instead of helping her recover, they pulled her deeper into addiction,” he wrote.
According to the senator, Regina’s relatives repeatedly violated medical advice during her rehabilitation and continued providing her with narcotics. He also recounted a recent altercation where Sammy allegedly arrived at his residence at 4 a.m., demanding a confrontation.
Nwoko defended involving law enforcement in the matter, saying Sammy “needs rehabilitation, not sympathy,” and dismissed circulating videos showing alleged assaults as “staged Nollywood drama.”
Reacting via Instagram, Regina admitted to past drug use but accused Nwoko of exaggeration and manipulation.
“Fine, I did drugs but that’s not our issue. You rushed online shouting ‘drugs’ to distract people from the real problem,” she said.
The actress accused the senator of isolating her from friends and family, claiming he used arrests and intimidation to control her.
“You want to arrest everyone around me so I’ll have no one left and be forced to come back to you,” she wrote.
Regina further alleged that Nwoko encouraged her drug use, claiming he once said she looked “sexier” when high. She accused him of sexual assault, medical coercion, and confinement, alleging he seized her phones and forced doctors to sedate her during disputes.
She also denied the existence of a legal marriage between them “There was never a court marriage. You can’t force love or marriage. I gave you my prime years, that’s worth more than whatever you spent.”
The couple’s dispute has played out publicly over recent weeks. Regina previously accused Nwoko of domestic violence, which he denied, attributing her behavior to “substance abuse.” Her brother Sammy was later arrested in Lagos, transferred to Abuja, and remanded after court proceedings.
Amid the controversy, Regina shared emotional videos about her family’s struggles, including her parents’ reconciliation after years apart. Her revelations have sparked widespread concern and calls for calm across social media.
