The Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) has announced the 2025 edition of the Osun Digital Media Week, scheduled to take place on December 4 at the Ben Bar Event Hall, beside Regina Suite, Ring Road, Osogbo.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Adesoji Omosebi, the three day programme will feature a mix of Corporate Social Responsibility engagements, professional refresher sessions, and a public lecture themed: “Harnessing Technology and Artificial Intelligence towards Credible Elections and Information Dissemination in Nigeria.”
Omosebi explained that this year’s edition is designed to broaden discussions on how digital technology and artificial intelligence are reshaping Nigeria’s media environment and their potential to strengthen electoral processes.
The Guest Speaker, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, Resident Electoral Commissioner in Osun State, is expected to lead conversations on the evolving role of technology in electoral credibility, media practice, and democratic growth.
The programme will also spotlight the contributions of online publishers and digital media practitioners in Osun, acknowledging their efforts in promoting credible journalism and enhancing information transparency across the state.
Adding prestige to the event, the Olowu of Kuta, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Hameed Oyelude Makama, CON, will serve as Father of the Day, while the General Manager of Osun CSDA, Mrs. Funmi Abokede, has been named Mother of the Day.
OOPA noted that the Digital Media Week continues to serve as a platform for collaboration, capacity development, and advocacy, particularly on responsible information dissemination and the expanding influence of technology on Nigeria’s democratic journey.
