Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reaffirmed his concern for the state of the nation, saying his heart remains with Nigerians despite being abroad.

The singer, who celebrated his 33rd birthday with a sold-out show at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, shared a video from the event on Instagram on Saturday, thanking fans for their overwhelming support.

“ATL!!! Thank you for the birthday love, State Farm, three years in a row! But even as we celebrate, my heart is with home. Nigeria is going through too much… our people deserve peace. More life, more love, more change,” he wrote.

His message comes shortly after he expressed heartbreak over the kidnapping of schoolgirls in Kebbi State, describing the incident as devastating and insisting that no family should experience such suffering.

Davido also condemned the recent attack on a church in Kwara State, praying for the victims and urging that such violence must never be normalised.

The singer’s wife, Chioma, celebrated him with a touching birthday message, praying that God frustrates any plans meant to harm their family.

She added that her husband “still gives her butterflies” and thanked God for how far he has come. She also surprised him with a private birthday dinner and gifted him a Hermès HAC Haut à Courroies bag.

Davido’s birthday celebration marks another milestone in a year where he continues to balance global success with outspoken advocacy for peace and stability back home.
