President Bola Tinubu has celebrated the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, on his 65th birthday, describing him as a man of integrity and one of Nigeria’s most committed reformers.
In a statement released on Friday by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu commended Ribadu for his decades of dedicated service to the country, especially his pioneering role in establishing and shaping the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Tinubu noted that Ribadu’s tenure as the EFCC’s first chairman helped strengthen Nigeria’s anti-corruption system and set new standards for accountability in public service.
“Since we became close over 15 years ago, I have come to admire Nuhu’s honesty, courage, and his sense of camaraderie,” the president said.
“As a key member of our Renewed Hope Agenda team, he has remained unwaveringly patriotic, loyal, and forthright.”
Wishing Ribadu well on his birthday, Tinubu prayed that Allah grants him continued good health and wisdom to keep serving the nation.
Born on November 21, 1960, in Yola, Adamawa State, Ribadu was appointed National Security Adviser on June 19, 2023. Before then, he led the EFCC from 2003 to 2007, overseeing several landmark investigations and prosecutions of corrupt public officials and fraud syndicates.
Ribadu has received multiple recognitions throughout his career, including Inspector General of Police Awards in 1997, 1998, and 2000. He also earned a Special Presidential Commendation in 2005 for his outstanding work in tackling advance fee fraud, banking fraud, and other economic crimes.
