The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has summoned an emergency meeting of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Executive Committee (NEC).

The announcement was contained in a notice issued on Monday by the factional National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu. The notice was also shared on X by Lere Olayinka, media aide to the FCT minister.

According to the schedule, both meetings will take place on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the NEC Hall of the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja. The BoT meeting is expected to begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the NEC meeting at 2:00 p.m.

The notice stressed the importance of attendance, noting that “crucial matters will be discussed and addressed.”

This development comes just days after the PDP held its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, where several prominent members many of them allied with Wike were expelled from the party for alleged anti-party activities.

The motion for their expulsion was moved by former PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Bode George, and seconded by the Bauchi State PDP Chairman, Samaila Buga. It was later subjected to a voice vote by delegates, with Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed who also chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum presiding.

The delegates overwhelmingly affirmed the expulsions, signalling the party’s decision to clamp down on internal divisions and enforce party discipline.
