The World Institute for Peace (WIP Nigeria) has appealed to Mr. Seyi Tinubu, Co-Founder of the Noella Foundation and son of the President, to support its newly launched national program tagged the “Peace Revolution.” The initiative aims to train five million young Nigerians across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to become peace advocates.
The Executive Director of WIP Nigeria, Ambassador Lamina Kamiludeen Omotoyosi, announced the appeal in a statement made available to journalists, describing the campaign as one of the most ambitious youth-driven peacebuilding projects in the country.
Omotoyosi declared that the project was designed to encourage young people to embrace dialogue rather than violence. According to him, the Peace Revolution is “not about politics” but rather “about people power,” focused on building a generation that chooses unity and responsibility over hate and fear.
He explained that the involvement of Mr. Seyi Tinubu and the Noella Foundation would significantly strengthen the project’s reach and impact. Omotoyosi added that partnering with influential young leaders and development-focused organizations would help accelerate the spread of peace education and grassroots engagement across the nation.
The initiative aligns with ongoing government efforts to tackle insecurity by promoting dialogue, civic participation, and tolerance. Through structured training, leadership development, and community outreach, the Peace Revolution intends to build a network of young ambassadors capable of transforming conflict-prone communities.
The Institute clarified that it is not seeking monetary donations Instead, it appealed for essential materials needed to effectively run the nationwide training program. Items requested include educational materials such as books and writing boards, digital tools including cameras and laptops, vehicles for field operations, and branded shirts and caps for campaign visibility.
Omotoyosi noted that the materials would enable the organization to equip millions of youths with the skills and resources required to champion peaceful coexistence in their respective communities.
The World Institute for Peace further called on individuals, corporate bodies, and development partners to volunteer, collaborate, or donate tools toward advancing the Peace Revolution initiative.
