Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has appealed for calm following intense public reaction to his recent cry-for-help controversy, warning that the situation is putting his wife, Natasha, at risk.

The singer said the issue has been blown out of proportion and urged fans to be cautious. He also distanced himself from a now-deleted Instagram story in which he appeared to ask for help, stating he did not make the post and that it had sparked needless panic around his family.

In a video shared on Wednesday by X.com (formerly Twitter) user @AsakeGrn, 2Baba said the matter was “getting out of hand,” describing the public frenzy as dangerous. He noted that he understands how far emotional fans can go and stressed that the tension was endangering his wife.

“This is getting out of hand. This is a dangerous situation. I know what fans can do, I know what people can do, and this is putting Natasha at risk,” he said.

He urged fans, relatives, and friends to “cease fire” and allow the couple to handle their private issues without interference. According to him, disagreements happen in every relationship, but the current uproar has crossed acceptable boundaries.

“It is not fair on anybody to face this kind of thing. Everybody, please calm down. Cease fire. We will resolve these issues. People have problems at home not today. But this is getting out of hand. Friends, family, everybody, cease fire. I am perfectly fine. I did not make that post. I am okay.”

This development follows earlier reports that the singer was briefly detained by UK police after an alleged altercation with Natasha during his October tour.

The issue resurfaced during an Instagram Live session with broadcaster Daddy Freeze, where the couple could be heard arguing in the background.

The incident intensified speculation about a marital crisis and raised concerns for the singer’s well-being.
