Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has unveiled a comprehensive support package for visually impaired gospel artist Chris Vic, offering him a plot of land in Uyo, a four-bedroom home, and a ₦100 million music studio.
The governor also approved a ₦1 million monthly allowance for the 22-year-old singer for as long as he remains in office.
Announcing the gesture on his official X account on Sunday morning, Eno described the initiative as part of his administration’s commitment to uplifting persons with disabilities.
“I have directed the Commissioner for Lands to allocate a plot of land in Uyo to Chris Vic, and I will sign the C-of-O next week,” he wrote. “We will build him a four-bedroom flat and provide ₦100 million to establish his music studio, separate from the cost of the land and the house. In addition, he will receive a monthly stipend of ₦1 million throughout my tenure.”
Chris Vic, born Christian Victor Eshiet, is an emerging gospel musician from Eket who rose to national prominence following his standout performances in Season 4 of the De9jaSpirit Talent Hunt. Despite his visual impairment, he captivated audiences with energetic gospel medleys—such as “Kumama Papa”—and dance routines that quickly went viral.
His collaboration with Team Unbeatable DC amassed millions of views on TikTok and Facebook. Another worship performance reportedly hit 3 million views, while a joint song with Glory Henry and Paskal surpassed 1.1 million views on Facebook. He finished as second runner-up in last month’s finale, earning a ₦3 million prize.
Governor Eno said his decision was motivated by the singer’s inspiring resilience.
“Chris Vic reminds us that praise is possible in every circumstance. I want him and all persons with disabilities to know that this government cares,” he added
