Liverpool manager Arne Slot has downplayed rising speculation about Mohamed Salah’s future, saying he sees “no reason not to want him to stay” at the club. According to him, further talks with the Egyptian superstar are scheduled for Friday morning to clear the air.

Tension grew after Salah publicly voiced his frustration following Liverpool’s 2–2 draw at Leeds. The 33-year-old complained that he had been “thrown under the bus” and was then left out of the squad for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Inter Milan. At Elland Road, Salah insisted he had “earned his place” in the team.

Slot, however, offered reassurance, stressing his admiration for the winger.

“I have no reason not to want him to stay. I will have a conversation with Mo. The outcome of that conversation will determine how things look on Saturday,” Arne Slot

Liverpool now shift focus to Saturday’s home game against Brighton as they try to recover from back-to-back Premier League draws.

Salah, who signed a new two-year deal in April, remains one of Liverpool’s most influential players with 250 goals in 420 appearances. Yet, he has surprisingly been on the bench in two of the last three league matches. His last start was the Champions League loss to PSV Eindhoven on November 26, and he last featured as a substitute in the 1–1 draw with Sunderland on December 3.
