The Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has fired up his teammates ahead of Nigeria’s opening match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, urging them to give their all from the first whistle.
Speaking before Tuesday’s clash with Tanzania, Osimhen stressed the importance of determination, discipline, and a winning mindset as the team begins its quest for continental glory.
According to the Napoli forward, the AFCON presents a golden opportunity for Nigeria to go one step further than they did at the last tournament.
“This AFCON is a chance for us to do something special and push ourselves to win the trophy,” Osimhen said. “It won’t be easy, but we must fight in every match and contest every ball.”
He added that the Super Eagles must approach each game with the mindset of winning, believing that consistent performances could carry them all the way to the final.
Osimhen is expected to play a key leadership role as Nigeria looks to lift the AFCON trophy in Morocco, having narrowly missed out in the previous edition after finishing runners-up in Côte d’Ivoire.
