The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Osun State chapter, on Monday, 8th December 2025, held its congress at the party secretariat. The congress featured the election of party executives and had the presence of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which supervised the process to ensure a credible, free and fair election.

The three-man electoral committee, headed by Dr. Adebayo Adeyemi, with Chief Olalekan Fabayo as Secretary and Hon. Sola Olatubosun serving as a member of the committee, conducted the exercise, while INEC officials were present to oversee the electoral process.

Representing INEC, Ishola Olakunle noted that the election was free and fair and served as a testament to the wishes of the party members. He stated that there were no issues, no hoodlum activity, and that everything was peaceful during and after the election.

The elected chairman of the party, Dr. Diran Odeyemi, appreciated the electoral committee for ensuring compliance and transparency in the just-concluded election, as well as the INEC officials present to witness the congress and election of the party executives.

Speaking to Insight Media correspondents at the congress, Odeyemi noted that the primary election for the party’s gubernatorial candidate would hold on Saturday, 13th December 2025. He urged all executives and members of the party to uphold the integrity of the party, make peace their hallmark, and respect every party official from the local, ward, and state levels.

“No form of hooliganism should be seen among members, executives, or supporters,” he stated. He implored everyone to maintain peace so that “we can all enjoy the dividends of our labour and sacrifices to the party when the time of harvest comes.”

Taiwo Hassan Olanrewaju, the elected Auditor of the NNPP Osun State chapter, gave the vote of thanks, also urging all members to work in love, peace, and unity within the party.
