The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has successfully elected 1,660 delegates who will vote in the party’s governorship primary scheduled for December 13.
The delegates which includes five representatives from each of the 332 wards across the state emerged from the ward congresses held on Tuesday.
Announcing the outcome at the APC state secretariat in Osogbo, the Chairman of the 2025 Osun APC Gubernatorial Congress Delegate Committee, Shehu Dange, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
“I am happy to inform you that after collating results from all wards, a total of 1,660 delegates were elected,” Dange said.
“These are the people who will choose our governorship candidate. I appreciate everyone who participated and ensured a smooth process.”
Dange added that the committee was able to complete delegate selection in all wards without any major incident, thanking party stakeholders in the state for their cooperation.
He also urged party members to remain united as the primary approaches, saying unity is key to supporting President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and strengthening the APC.
Meanwhile, two aspirants Bola Oyebamiji, former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, and Mulikat Abiola, a former Osun State lawmaker have been cleared by the national leadership of the party to contest in Saturday’s primary.
However, seven aspirants were disqualified, including: Senator Iyiola Omisore, Senator Jide Omoworare, Former Deputy Governor Benedict Alabi, Dotun Babayemi, Kunle Adegoke (SAN), Hareter Oralusi and Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi
Their disqualification was announced by the screening committee ahead of the primary.
