The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced fresh statistics from the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), revealing that over 2.68 million Nigerians have completed their registration so far.

In a breakdown shared on its X (formerly Twitter) page, INEC noted that 1,576,137 people concluded their pre-registration online, while another 1,109,588 applicants finalised their registration through physical capture at various INEC centres nationwide.

According to the commission’s latest figures, Osun State retains its position at the top with 208,357 newly registered voters. It is closely followed by Kano with 159,669, and Sokoto with 152,650 new registrations.

Other states with strong turnout include Imo (145,561), Borno (123,835), Lagos (123,484) and Jigawa (116,246).

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) also recorded impressive numbers with 106,855 completed registrations, followed by Kogi (103,750) and Zamfara (101,511). Katsina posted 98,968 registrations, while states like Delta, Kaduna, Ogun, Kebbi, Niger, Oyo, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers also reported high participation.

On the lower end, states such as Enugu (19,275), Ondo (17,542), Cross River (16,822) and Abia (16,691) recorded fewer new registrants.

INEC reminded Nigerians that the first quarter of the nationwide CVR exercise ends on December 10, 2025, and encouraged all eligible citizens to make use of the remaining window to register.
