Tanzania made a strong impression at the 46th Kano International Trade Fair, drawing traders, investors, and visitors with an extensive display of its agricultural and manufactured goods.

In a statement released on Thursday by the United Republic of Tanzania High Commission in Abuja, the country highlighted its renowned exports premium coffee, tea, spices, sisal, and leather products.

With Nigeria’s high consumption of tea and coffee, alongside strong local demand for spices used in cuisine and traditional medicine, Tanzania sees increasing opportunities in the Nigerian market.

The East African nation already exports Arabica and Robusta coffee, various tea types, and a wide range of spices to markets across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

The fair, organised by the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, runs from November 22 to December 6 at the Aminu Dantata Trade Fair Complex.

Tanzania’s participation reflects its commitment to deepening commercial ties with one of Africa’s largest consumer markets. The High Commission noted a key development: the launch of direct Air Tanzania flights from Dar es Salaam to Lagos. Operating three times weekly, the route has improved connectivity and boosted trade, tourism, and business relations.

Officials added that Nigeria–Tanzania relations have grown stronger in recent years, with both nations exploring collaboration across multiple sectors. They emphasised that the expanding populations and vast economic potential in both countries make such partnerships increasingly valuable.
