Politicians and prominent people in Osun have continued to pay tributes as foremost political leader, Alhaji Fatai Diekola died.
Diekola, who is an indigene of Osogbo, died on Monday after a brief illness.
He is expected to be buried according to Islamic rite on Tuesday in Osogbo.
Former Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Sunday Akere wrote, “Adieu a fearless fighter and defender of truths. You came, you saw and you conquered. It is not how long, but how well. You have played your part and you will be remembered for always being ready to speak truths no matter whose ox is gored. You were a true friend, brother, leader, confidant, and titan. Sleep on, sleep well Alhaji Fatai Diekola Oyedele omo Laniyan. May Allah grant the family the fortitude to bear this loss and comfort all of us that you left behind. Truly an era has ended.”
Secretary to the state government, Chief Teslim Igbalaye also penned his tribute to the late politician.
He wrote on his Facebook page, “I received the sad news of the passing of Alhaji Fatai Diekola, a great leader, fearless politician, and Chairman of the Osun State Board for Vocational and Technical Education.
“Jagun Aso dedicated his life to public service and the advancement of his community and state. His fearlessness, leadership, and commitment to progress distinguished him as a man of principle whose legacy will not be forgotten.
“His courage, dedication, and service to Osogbo and Osun State will always be remembered.”
