Leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Ife East Area Office, Modakeke, Osun state, has alerted the general public of the activities of an individual parading himself as the Chairman of the council.
In a rejoinder signed by Honourable Adepoju Abidemi, they noted that a publication by one Hon. Adekunle Adewumi, wherein he stated that he presented a budget to the Legislative Arm of Modakeke Area Office, was misleading and unlawful.
The statement reads, “The attention of the leadership and people of Ife East Area Office, Modakeke, has been drawn to a misleading publication titled “LGA boss vows to drive Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda at grassroots level” attributed to Hon. Adekunle Adewumi, who lacks the legal and constitutional authority to act or speak as Chairman of the Area Office.
“For the avoidance of doubt and in the interest of public record, Hon. Lawal Mojeed Tunde remains the duly elected, substantive, and legally recognized Executive Chairman of Ife East Area Office, Modakeke. By virtue of this position, he alone is vested with the lawful authority to present the 2026 Budget of the Area Office.
“Accordingly, the ₦4,807,300,055.00
2026 Budget, tagged “Budget of Liberation and Total Transformation”, and formally presented by Hon. Lawal Mojeed Tunde to the Legislative Arm, constitutes the only valid, lawful, and acceptable budget proposal of Ife East Area Office.
“Any statement, publication, or representation by unauthorized persons purporting to speak on budgetary matters or governance of the Area Office is misleading, unauthorized, and devoid of legal foundation, and amounts to impersonation and an attempt to usurp statutory responsibility.
“The administration of Hon. Lawal Mojeed Tunde remains committed to transparent governance, inclusive leadership, and genuine grassroots development, in alignment with progressive governance ideals and the welfare of the people of Modakeke.
“Members of the public, stakeholders, and the media are hereby advised to disregard any publication or claim not emanating from the office of the duly recognized Executive Chairman, as such claims hold no legal or administrative validity.”
