The Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force have reiterated the need for sustained collaboration and continuous operational synergy to enhance security across Delta State.
This was the focus of a courtesy visit by the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, to the Commander of 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force South South, Operation Delta Safe, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, at the Brigade Headquarters in Asaba on Tuesday.
The development was disclosed in a statement signed by Captain Iliyasu Bawa Rijau, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 63 Brigade, which was made available to journalists in Warri on Wednesday.
According to the statement, “The courtesy visit aimed to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and operational synergy between 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force South South, Operation Delta Safe, and the Delta State Police Command.
“The objective was to enhance effective policing and overall security across the state.”
During the engagement, CP Aina Adesola stressed the importance of sustained cooperation, prompt intelligence sharing and joint operational strategies among security agencies operating in the state.
The police commissioner also underscored the need to address security concerns in the riverine and coastal areas of Delta State.
In his response, Brigadier General Shonibare welcomed the Commissioner of Police and his delegation, reaffirming the Brigade’s commitment to close collaboration with the police and other sister security agencies.
