Aston Villa have reached an agreement to sign striker Tammy Abraham in an £18 million transfer, paving the way for the forward’s return to the Premier League.

The 28-year-old recently completed a permanent move from Roma to Turkish side Besiktas for £11.2 million, a deal that was triggered after conditions in his loan contract were met. Besiktas, however, have now agreed to sell the striker to Villa shortly after finalising the purchase.

Abraham travelled to the United Kingdom on Friday and successfully underwent a medical on Saturday following Villa’s agreement with the Turkish club.

Although Besiktas were reportedly reluctant to let the striker leave, they accepted the offer as Abraham pushed for a return to England. He impressed during his time in Turkey, scoring 12 goals in 24 appearances this season.

Confirming the development, Besiktas said the clause for Abraham’s permanent transfer had been activated, adding that a €13 million fee would be paid to AS Roma as part of the agreement.

Abraham originally joined Roma from Chelsea in 2021 in a £34 million move, scoring 39 goals in 120 appearances and helping the Italian side win the Europa Conference League in 2022. He also spent the 2024/25 season on loan at AC Milan, where he netted 10 goals in 44 matches.

With the deal now in place, Abraham is set to complete his move to Aston Villa, marking a return to the Premier League, where he first rose to prominence during his time at Chelsea.
