The family of late Nollywood actress, Allwell Ademola, has announced plans for her final burial rites, scheduled for Friday, January 9, 2026.
In a statement shared online by her cousin, actor Muyiwa Ademola, the family revealed that activities will begin on Thursday, January 8, with a Service of Songs, followed by a candlelight procession in her honour.
According to the statement, the Service of Songs will hold from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. This will be immediately followed by a candlelight procession from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, moving from LTV 8 to Oregun Junction and back to LTV 8. An Artistes’ Night will take place afterward, with closing remarks expected by 11:00pm.
The family also announced a dress code for the events. Attendees will receive customised T-shirts at the venue on Thursday, while guests are expected to wear white shirts paired with jeans for the burial on Friday.
Allwell Ademola will be laid to rest at the Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos.
The family’s statement read in part, “The burial arrangement for Princess Allwell Ademola. Please note that a customised T-shirt will be provided on Thursday. On Friday, guests are advised to wear a white shirt with jeans. The colour code is white. Thank you all.”
PUNCH Online had earlier reported that the actress passed away on December 27, 2025, after suffering a heart attack at her residence. Her death was confirmed by colleagues in the entertainment industry through social media.
Several Nollywood stars, including Damola Olatunji, Mr Latin, Faithia Williams and Bidemi Kosoko, were among the first to mourn her passing publicly.
In an official family announcement, it was disclosed that Allwell Ademola was 49 years old. The family expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support, prayers and condolence messages received from colleagues, friends and well-wishers, while praying for her soul to rest in perfect peace.
