The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Benibo Anabraba, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Anabraba announced his decision in a letter dated January 5, 2026, addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 1 in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
In the letter, the SSG described his exit from the party as a personal decision, while expressing gratitude to the PDP for the political opportunities and leverage he enjoyed during his time as a member.
Although he did not reveal his next political destination, sources indicate that Anabraba is considering a move to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
