The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released deployment information for prospective corps members in the 2026 Batch A, Stream 1, confirming that call-up letters are now available.
The announcement was made on Monday via the scheme’s official X (formerly Twitter) page. According to the NYSC, some corps members posted to Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will complete their orientation programmes in nearby states due to limited camp capacity.
Prospective corps members deployed to Lagos may be sent to orientation camps in Ekiti, Kwara, Ondo, Ogun, or Osun states, while those posted to the FCT may attend camps in Kaduna, Niger, or Nasarawa states.
The NYSC explained that the decision was necessary because orientation camps can only accommodate about 40 per cent of registered prospective corps members at a time.
As part of its preparations, the scheme also issued a travel advisory, urging prospective corps members not to travel at night to their orientation camps. They were further advised to complete all required documentation ahead of arrival, stressing that all forms must be printed and signed before registration at the camp.
In another notice, the NYSC warned that prospective corps members with inconsistencies in their records would not be allowed to register. Specifically, anyone whose date of graduation on the call-up letter does not match the date on their Statement of Results will be denied registration. Such individuals were advised to resolve the issue with their Student Affairs Officers (SAOs) before reporting to camp.
The scheme also released guidelines for married female prospective corps members. Those not posted to their husband’s state of residence are instructed to report to the nearest orientation camp for registration.
Married women seeking concessional posting on marital grounds are required to upload the following documents:
Marriage certificate
Husband’s means of identification
Letter confirming the husband’s place of domicile
Meanwhile, the NYSC has reiterated its stance on discipline, warning that it will not tolerate any form of misconduct as the 2026 Batch A orientation programme officially begins nationwide on January 21.
