Family and friends of late gospel singer Bunmi Akinnaanu have announced arrangements for her burial.

Akinnaanu passed away on January 12 after a prolonged battle with a serious leg ailment that had sparked widespread concern among fans and members of the gospel music community. Months before her death, she had publicly sought prayers and healing as she battled the illness.

The burial programme was disclosed by fellow gospel singer Alayo Melody via Instagram, alongside a flier detailing the schedule.

According to the announcement, activities will begin on Tuesday, January 20, with a service of songs at the LTV 8 Ground, Ikeja, Lagos. A candlelight procession will follow at 7pm, while a tribute and artistes’ night is scheduled for 8pm the same day.

The interment service will hold on Wednesday, January 21, and will be a private ceremony for family members and close associates.

Akinnaanu began singing at the age of 10 and later left a banking career to pursue gospel music full-time. She gained national recognition with her hit song Omije Ojumi which became widely embraced by Nigerian Christians and remains popular in churches and homes across the country.
