The Forum of the Council Chairmen in Osun State, under the umbrella of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), has announced temporary suspension of the reabsorption of all the primary school teachers and health workers employed by the former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola but draconically sacked by the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, upon assumption of office.

The council Chairmen, in a statement signed by State ALGON Chairman, who doubled as Ifedayo Local Government Chairman, Hon. Idowu Samuel Abiodun, directed all the 30 Local Government Areas and Ife-East Area Office to put the reabsorption process on hold pending the further announcement by the Councils.

Recall that over 1500 teachers and close to 3000 health workers who were gainfully employed by the erstwhile Governor Adegboyega Oyetola were relieved of their respective duties by the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke immediately he was swore-in in 2022.

Meanwhile, the Council Chairmen and Councillors elected under the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC who are currently administering the Councils’ affairs of their respective Councils had resolved to recall all the affected workers back to duty as part of efforts to strengthen provision of quality and qualitative education, and healthcare service delivery across the nooks and crannies of the state.

Hon. Abiodun noted that the announcement on the recall will be made as soon as possible to ensure that the sacked workers are reabsorbed to continue delivering quality services to the people of the state.
