The Osun State Police Command has arrested four suspected motorcycle thieves and recovered two unregistered motorcycles in a joint operation with local security outfits in the state.
The suspects, identified as Adeyemo Tunde, Adepinye Clement, Adewale Tosin and Useni Kabiru, were arrested in connection with the theft and receipt of stolen motorcycles.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, the suspects were intercepted on January 22, 2026, along the Oduduwa University roundabout in Ipetumodu and subsequently taken to the Ipetumodu Police Division for questioning.
The police said that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to stealing the motorcycles from Iwara, Osun State. Further investigation led to the arrest of Useni Kabiru, who was identified as the receiver of the stolen motorcycles.
DSP Ojelabi disclosed that two unregistered motorcycles were recovered from the suspects, adding that all those arrested have been charged to court.
He noted that the breakthrough was achieved through strong collaboration between the police and local security outfits in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, while commending the efforts and support of the local security operatives, called for increased cooperation from residents and security stakeholders in the ongoing fight against crime and criminality in Osun State.
