Former Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has been linked with a potential move to Real Madrid as speculation grows over who will take charge of the Spanish giants ahead of the summer.

Madrid are currently being overseen on an interim basis by Álvaro Arbeloa following the sudden exit of Xabi Alonso, who stepped down on Monday after spending less than eight months in the role.

Klopp, who left Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season, is now serving as Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull, a position he took up in January 2025. Although the German tactician is tied to a long-term contract with the Red Bull group, reports suggest the chance to coach Real Madrid would strongly appeal to him.

According to Sky Germany, Klopp would seriously consider the offer if Madrid make a formal approach. The broadcaster also revealed that the club has been keeping tabs on Klopp since December, identifying him as one of the leading options should Alonso’s tenure come to an end.

Klopp previously explained that he stepped away from Liverpool to recharge after an extraordinary spell at Anfield, where he won six major trophies, including the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.

With Madrid now in transition and the search for a permanent manager expected to intensify, Klopp’s name is quickly gaining traction among the club’s potential candidates.
