The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned Nigerians to be wary of a fake recruitment announcement currently circulating on social media.
In a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, the agency clarified that it did not issue any press release or notice announcing a recruitment exercise, describing the information as completely false.
NAFDAC explained that although it conducts recruitment exercises from time to time to employ qualified Nigerians, no such process is ongoing at the moment.
The agency cautioned members of the public against engaging with fraudulent recruitment messages, noting that such scams are often designed to deceive and extort unsuspecting job seekers.
“For the avoidance of doubt, NAFDAC has not announced any recruitment exercise and has not released any related press statement,” the agency said.
NAFDAC further stressed that all legitimate information from the agency is communicated only through its official website and verified communication platforms.
It urged Nigerians to remain vigilant, ignore fake recruitment notices, and always confirm information directly from official NAFDAC channels before taking action.
The warning comes amid a growing wave of fake government recruitment scams reported across Nigeria in early 2026. Similar alerts have recently been issued by other government agencies, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
