Nigerian music legend Tuface Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has addressed misconceptions about his personal life, stressing that he is not a womanizer but a devoted partner and father.
In an exclusive chat with the Voice of Nigeria, the award-winning singer described himself as straightforward and affectionate.
“The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a womanizer. I like women; I’m just straightforward. But I’m a lover boy. I love hard,” 2Baba explained.
2Baba, who is a father of eight, reflected on the challenges of balancing his music career with family life.
“I feel blessed and happy, but the sadness comes from the fact that I haven’t gotten to spend the type of time I should have spent with them collectively. It does something to me sometimes,” he said.
Despite the occasional regret, he described his children as a constant source of pride and happiness.
“They’re amazing, brilliant people. I just wish I was there more. It touches me from all corners,” 2Baba added.
The singer also addressed public speculation about his wife, Natasha, particularly suggestions that she has an outsized influence over his decisions.
“Everybody has a say in everybody’s business now. Sometimes people say very nasty things. Reality is reality, she’s a brilliant woman, a strong woman,” he said.
Away from the stage, 2Baba revealed a quieter, more introspective side to his personality.
“My profession doesn’t permit me to be shy, but I’m actually a very shy person. Sometimes I just want to be alone and chill. Other times I want to hang out. I like nature; I have my moments.”
Even after decades in the spotlight, the singer’s candid reflections offer a glimpse of the man behind the fame, loving, devoted, and grounded.
