The Osun State Police Command has arrested a 54-year-old man, Ojo David Oluwasesan, over an alleged visa fraud involving N8.41 million.

‎In a statement issued on February 12, 2026, by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, the Command said the suspect allegedly defrauded several victims under the false pretence of securing travel visas.

‎The police said the case was reported in January 2025 when two complainants were introduced to the suspect by a friend. He reportedly presented himself as a travel agent and offered to process their visa and flight tickets to Luxembourg in the United Kingdom.

‎According to the statement, “the victims paid the suspect N3.6 million for the visa and travel arrangements, but he absconded with the money”.

‎”The Command stated that further investigation revealed that the suspect had also defrauded other victims of N4.81 million, bringing the total amount allegedly obtained to N8.41 million”.

‎The police explained that detectives immediately launched an intelligence-led investigation after receiving the complaint, which led to the arrest of the suspect. The Command added that he confessed to the crime during interrogation.

‎The suspect has since been charged to court and remanded in a correctional facility.

‎”The Command police used the medium to warn members of the public to be cautious when dealing with travel agents for visa processing and to verify their authenticity before making payments”.The command concluded .
