A member of the House of Representatives representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Bamidele Salam, on Friday officially received his membership card of the Accord Party in Awo, Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State.
The event, held on March 13, 2026, was attended by party leaders, stakeholders and supporters from across the federal constituency.
Speaking during the ceremony, Salam described the occasion as a “fresh beginning” for the party in Osun State and pledged to lead mobilisation efforts ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
According to him, the move is aimed at strengthening support for the re-election of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, under Accord Party.
Salam said the governor’s performance in office had continued to attract widespread support across the state.
“Today marks a glorious moment as I officially receive my membership card of the Accord Party from the state chairman. Because of the superlative performance of the governor and his record of achievements in the last three years, the whole state is going Accord,” he said.
The lawmaker added that the registration signalled renewed efforts by party members to mobilise support across Osun ahead of the governorship election.
“This registration signals a fresh beginning and reinvigoration of the campaign for the August 15 governorship election. Everywhere you go in Osun State today, from Ife to Ilesa, Ede, Iwo and Ila, you will discover that Accord is becoming the leading political party,” he stated.
Salam also expressed optimism that the party would secure victory in the election and maintain political momentum towards the 2027 general elections, where he intends to contest again for the House of Representatives seat.
Meanwhile, a party stakeholder from Egbedore Local Government, Sulaiman Mutiu Ademola, said the gathering also served as an endorsement meeting for Salam’s continued representation at the National Assembly.
Ademola commended the lawmaker for what he described as impactful representation over the past years and urged constituents to sustain their support.
“Our leader, who is from this town, has been wonderful to us in the last six to seven years at the House of Representatives. That is why stakeholders from across the local government have gathered here to endorse him to continue his good work,” he said.
He also called on residents to support Governor Adeleke and the Accord Party in the forthcoming governorship election.
Ademola urged voters to turn out en masse on August 15 to vote for the party, adding that continued support for both Adeleke and Salam would ensure sustained development in the constituency and the state.
